What are the Symptoms?

Symptoms vary with age but children under the spectrum generally exhibit the following signs:

  1. Social interaction and difficulty with social relationships.
  2. Social communication and difficulty with verbal and non-verbal communication. They avoid eye contact
  3. Social imagination and showing signs of repetitive behavior like flicking their fingers and flapping their hands or rocking back and forth. And they play with toys in an unimaginative ways like lining blocks rather than using them to build something.
  4. They may sometimes show over sensitivity to sounds or under sensitivity to touch, taste, smells, light or colors
