Letter from CEO

Children with autism deserve a better world!

In Jordan, we are witnessing a rise of children under the spectrum every year. The overwhelming majority of them do not have access to the required services and specialized care.

We, at Autism MENA, are developing the services and training necessary to promote social inclusion as a basic human right for children with Autism. Moreover, we are working to create awareness and understanding of Autism through targeted nation-wide campaigns that seek to demystify and destigmatise the disorder in Jordanian Society as well as the broader Middle East.

Fortunately, we reached over (10,000) people on social media in the last year alone and in doing so we managed to inform and educate, guide and support all those who are in need of our services, not least is give our immediate attention to mothers of children with Autism who need regular parenting advice or guidance on nutrition, or just basic information on Autism. Hence, we are proud to say that in 2016 we helped over (200) families receive the specialised care across different areas of intervention.

More importantly, we supplied the market with trained professionals who are capable of training and educating children with ASD. These trainers are currently in high demand and in short supply, which is the reason why AMENA is striving diligently to build professional expertise in new niche areas that currently boast an estimate of (10,000) lucrative employment opportunities up for grabs by Jordanian youth.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all those who have contributed their time and effort to our cause. Without them, our achievements would have been near to impossible. We, therefore, thank them wholeheartedly as it is only through the collective efforts of individuals that we can make a difference and I am happy to say that while there is still so much to do we have come a long way!

Thank you once again.
